Favourite Songs: Bruised, The Stuff, River Lasse Lindh was the first Labrador artists that really blew my mind away. I heard this album last fall and I've since been a huge Lasse Lindh fan. Especially two songs really impressed me and I've listened to those songs hundreds of times. These infectious, intensive and perfect pop songs are called 'Bruised' and 'The Stuff'. Driving, catchy melodies and Lasse's great voice makes this album truly remarkable. It's an absolute joy to listen to 'You Wake Up At Sea Tac' and you sometimes even forget that the lyrics are quite tearful and the feel of frustration is around all the time. Those two absolute killers aren't the only perfect moments on the album. At least slow and passionate 'River' rises to the same level. Lasse's vocals on the chorus sound really frustrated when he sings the line "Such a good thing never lasts, Such a good thing always breaks". This is incredibly melodic and catchy music. It's not even that far from so called 'mainstream' and I sure would love to see Lasse Lindh topping the charts all around Europe. Most parts of the album are really fabulous. There are a few fillers, which drops the overall grade that one half of a heart. 'You Wake up at Sea Tac' came out already in 2001 and Lasse Lindh have since made a great album with Tribeca (reviewed here). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labrador's Sound Library (inc Lasse Lindh's songs) Written 02.03.2003 |
