Favourite Songs: Kate -97, A Night Like This, Combat I admit that I wasn't quite sure if I was going to like this when I ordered it. The reason I bought this was that Tribeca is a new project from Lasse Lindh and I respect him as songwriter and I do love his voice. I was worrying for nothing, because 'Kate -97' is a really good album. First of all. Kate -97 sounds perfect. It took them (Lasse Lindh and Claes Björklund) four months to record and mix this and it was worth the effort. The first jaw-dropping display is the title track 'Kate -97'. Lasse sounds so freaking desperate while singing the song (You got to take me out tonight Kate, you got to take me out). He really conveys the feel of despair and boredom. 'Combat', 'Happy New Year' and 'Off' continues the flow of fabulous dancable pop music. These melodies are going to stick and make you feel good. 'A Night Like This' is also a wonderful little gem. A song that would make a killing as the final song of the evening in any nightclub. Lasse's solo album 'You Wake Up At Sea Tac' is closer to my own taste, but Kate -97 is as wonderful. I'm not sure how popular this guy already is in Sweden, but I sure hope he has the recognition he deserves. Lasse Lindh/Tribeca will rule the MTV soon... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labrador's Sound Library Written 02.03.2003 |
