ultrasport: Mieto -ep (2003)

Favourite Songs:

The Boy That Never Lied, Discoboys & Discogirls

I've really loved everything they've done so far and this one is no exception. Mieto-ep introduces four new songs from this lovely band. Again their highly strung songs are simply irresistable and appeals to the romantic core of one's heart. Everything from the artwork to those cute backing vocals attracks me. Could they be any more perfect? Well I suppose they could. In a way of making even more songs like the two mentioned above. 'The Boy That Never Lied' is truly awesome. Lovely guitar work and those uu-uuh's and aa-aah's surely get under your skin. The opener 'Discoboys & Discogirls' is also mighty wonderful and you got to love those vocals by Sami, whatta voice. The other two songs, 'Ballgames' and 'It's Hard To Look Dignified When People Sit On You' are also quite marvellous. Although I feel that they could have get even more out of 'It's Hard To...' with better arrangements. Yep. Mieto -ep is a stunning ultrasport release. Hopefully some record label owner will soon lose his marketing sense and decide to sign them. ultrasport probably wouldn't sell that much, but they could make a wonderful indiepop album. Subtle perfection.
