I fell in love with Club 8 on the very moment I heard Karolina Komstedt's voice for the first time. It happened last spring/summer. The song was the title track of this album and now I finally own this beautiful piece of music. The other member of this duo is Johan Angergård who have my utmost respect. He seem to be quite active figure in swedish indie pop scene. He plays in Acid House Kings too and has produced and/or recorded lots of wonderful albums. Johan has also written the music/lyrics and produced/recorded this fine album.
Club 8's music is based on addictive melancholy pop melodies. Sweet adorable vocals are also big part of their charm. Both Johan and Karolina sing on the album, but Karolina takes the lead vocals on most of the songs. This is basicly quite soft and gentle pop music and they've blended some dub, bossa nova etc into the songs to make this even more fascinating. Their new album 'Strangely Beautiful' just came out. That is quite a must have item for me so I need to order more of these Labrador releases soon.
