Acid House Kings: Mondays Are Like Tuesdays and Tuesdays Are Like Wednesdays (Labrador Records, 2002)

Favourite Songs:

She Keeps Hoping, Swedish Hearts, Say Yes If You Love Me, One Two Three Four

The first album from this highly aclaimed swedish pop group came out in 1992, so I suppose it was about time to learn what Acid House Kings can give for me. Well in 1992 I thought that bands like Metallica and Klamydia were the greatest and at that time I would have probably hated Acid House Kings. Now ten years later Acid House Kings is easily able to find a place in my heart. Acid House Kings members are Johan Angergård, Niklas Angergård and Julia Lannerheim. Both Niklas and Julia sing lead vocals on the album and their voices fits nicely to this sunny and warm guitar pop. The album is pretty faultless. Wistful 'She Keeps Hoping' sung by Julia is the highest point of the album for me. Melodic sensibility is all around, but the album still have quite an easy-flowing feeling. Sweet pop hooks, warm sounds and well crafted songs. That's enough for me. The latest album by Acid House Kings is another wonderful release from swedish Labrador records.
