OCTA 18th Anniversary – M. Lockwood Porter

We are carrying on with the birthday party in Tulsa, Oklahoma with a great song from americana singer-songwriter M. Lockwood Porter. His contribution is a live at home version of a song called Rosetta Stone that first appeared as a b-side of his 2018 single Stumbling Toward the Dawn. If you like what you hear, Black Mesa Records released his latest album Communion in the Ashes in March 2019. A damn good record with marvellous americana and heartland rock’n’roll. Important and powerful social commentary too. So check that out after this lovely festival number Rosetta Stone.

OCTA 18th Anniversary – Marty the Random Guy

Taking our party gear to Southwest Finland and meeting up with roots singer-songwriter and cigar box guitar builder Marty the Random Guy. Actually I think Marty recorded this great contribution while staying in Stockholm, Sweden, but we won’t let the neighbors take the credit for this beautiful performance. Thrilled to have him joining our party, because he plays a lot of concerts in my corner of the world and he is always so so good. Here’s Marty the Random Guy with a song called Brick by Brick.

OCTA 18th Anniversary – TK & The Holy Know-Nothings

The broadcast for the day 7 of the anniversary week begins outside Terminal West, in Atlanta Georgia. Portland-based psychedelic doom boogie band TK & The Holy Know-Nothings is touring across the states, but still found the time and energy to make a rather spectacular contribution to our birthday party. Here’s songwriter Taylor Kingman (with a little help from the band) singing a beautiful acoustic version of a song called Deja Vudu. The original can be found from their marvellous 2019 album Arguably OK, which is out now on Mama Bird Recording Co. If you want to hear their rock’n’roll, bar boogie and folk rock with a full band sound, there’s a bunch of superb high quality live from Laurelthirst videos on this internet-thingy. I added direct links to couple of them but there’s more too.
