OCTA 18th Anniversary – Daniel Markham

Anniversary festival continues in Denton, Texas with a great songwriter and the sweetest metalhead Daniel Markham. I’ve been a huge fan since I heard his 2014 album Pretty Bitchin’ and I’m honored to have him joining our birthday party with a brand new song called Glamorous Like Goddesses from his forthcoming album. Follow that bandcamp link to hear/buy his wonderful albums. I still need to up my metal game to enjoy Larry Legion albums, but Hyperspeed, Disintegrator, Pretty Bitchin’ and Ruined My Life are all superb.

OCTA 18th Anniversary – Kuumat Siivet

We take our celebration back to Finland and more precisely Turku. Kuumat Siivet have released a couple of great EPs during the last few years and hopefully we’ll get a full-length album in the future. My own favorite song of the EPs is a song called Itke hänet pois and the songwriter Heidi Horila was kind enough to jump on the festival stage and play a solo piano version of this magnificent song for our enjoyment. If you want to hear these lovely EPs, hit that Bandcamp link below the video.

OCTA 18th Anniversary – I’m Kingfisher

We must not forget our lovely neighbours and it’s about time to travel to Sweden for the first time during this event. I’m Kingfisher aka songwriter Thomas Jonsson from Lund, Sweden gives us a live from his kitchen version of the opening track of his 2018 album Transit. This particular song What Good Would Loving Do Me Now? was a huge favorite of mine last year so I’m thrilled to have it playing on this festival. Follow that bandcamp link, if you want to hear the studio version of this one and the whole wonderful record.
