Another week, another weekly playlist.
Last week this little thing reached 200 followers. At least temporarily. Which is nice. Of course all kinds of numbers are just vanity meters, but it still important to know that someone seems to be interested and I’m not just blasting songs into the void.
The year is approaching its end, but there’s still plenty of great music to come, so hold on to your aoty lists. There’s a new Micah Schnabel album still on the horizon for example. We got some good candidates for those lists this week as well. The biggest one for me is the new Twain album. I’m a huge fan and love this new album. Of course I kind of knew that even before pushing the play button. There’s much more thought and we got new albums from Gabriel Birnbaum, Benjamin Tod, Heather Valley, Maija Sofia, Leonard Cohen, James Matthew VII, Scott H. Biram, Emily Barker (compilation of rare cuts), Dan Edmonds plus the Women Sing Waits tribute album. Also a couple of Field Report EPs with new versions
From Finland there’s singles from J.Matkala, Joni Ekman and Tams plus album cuts from Pienet Koirat and Baby Sweetcorn (revisiting this one because it’s so good). Tams and Pienet Koirat should have been here a week ago, but better late than never and all the other cliches.
The big new singles for me were the ones from Drive-By Truckers and Daniel Markham. Obviously everything else would be worth namedropping too. There’s a treat like Andrew Bryant’s version of True Love Will Find You In The End as the last track on this.
