Quivers, Eric Slick, 54 Ultra and Jessica Pratt

Another quick music video post. Starting this one with my favorite Tasmanian pop group Quivers. I’ve loved them since I heard the Pigeons single years back. Their latest album Oyster Cuts came out 9th of August on Merge Records and it’s again mighty good. This is Pink Smoke from the new album.

Next some Philly grooves from another big favorite Eric Slick. His new album New Age Rage is out on Slick Records / Thirty Tigers. Maybe this blissfully weird danceable monster challenges my taste here and there, but I absolutely love most of it. This opener The Moment is such a banger. Damn good stuff.

Let’s stay on the dancefloor with some smoother sounds from 54 Ultra. I’m late to this, but recently I’ve been digging his singles and music videos a lot. Soft soulful sounds from New Jersey by songwriter JohnAnthony Rodriguez. Here’s the a-side Heaven Knows of his recent 7″ single that is out now on That’s Love Records.

Time to wrap this little music video post in Los Angeles with something magically beautiful. I guess Jessica Pratt don’t really need the praise of small music blog, but this just too good not to share. The album Here in the Pitch came out in May on Mexican Summer / City Slang and it’s one of my favorites of the year so far. This is the fabulous ending song The Last Year.
