Summer vacation. Thankfully so, because both mind and the body need the rest. But hobbies continue, so here’s the new music weekly. A lot of country and especially country Bens this week.
The new one from Johnny Blue Skies (aka Sturgill) is the album of the week even though I usually go with a less household name for that. I haven’t made a deep dive yet, but liked it a lot on quick listen. We also have new albums from Maya De Vitry, Rainy Eyes, Chris Emmert & Austin Stambaugh, West of Roan, Ben Arsenault, Ben Vallee (this is about a month old, but I missed it back then), Ben Jarrell, Jake Xerxes Fussell, Cassandra Lewis, Bright Arcana, Cassandra Jenkins, Color Green, Deer Tick, Smug Brothers (EP), Chris Cohen and LadyCouch.
Again only a a few Finnish cuts, but I love them all. These are singles from Hattara, Jani Matti Juhani and Emilia Sisco and Cold Diamond & Mink. I’m very eager to hear that Hattara album, because so far I’ve only heard good/great song from them. I’ve been even thinking of going to the album release concert in Helsinki, but that might get a little too tricky due to work-related reasons.
A lot of international singles gold too. The song of the week is the new one from Christo Graham. Other big early faves came from Richard Laviolette, Christian Lee Hutson, The Softies, Quivers, The Secret Beach, Bobby Emmett, Jack M. Senff and Bella White. Again just to name few. Something that I didn’t namedrop here might end up being the one I love the most.
That’s all for now. Like, share, follow and all the usual promotional nonsense. It all matters. Next weekend I will be at Ilmiö Festival for two days. The plan is still to make the new music weekly, but it’s probably late Sunday. Maybe even Monday, if I’m too tired on Sunday. The weekend after that I will maybe skip altogether, because vacation things might come in the way. We’ll see. Love.

A few Bandcamp cuts for the lovely non-streamers:
Oh and do buy the vinyl/cd/download. Spotify and other streaming services are perfect for these introductory purposes, but try to buy at least the music that matter the most to you
I’ll make the playlist on Spotify and then transfer it to other platforms. This means a few tracks might be missing from the from the other platforms, if they are not available there. Oh and there’s a bunch of older episodes on my Spotify profile, if you miss an episode or want to revisit.
If you are looking this after a week has gone, the embedded Spotify will show the latest playlist. I’ll just update the same playlist because if someone wants to follow it, they can just follow that one list and will get a new set of songs each weekend.
