Another week, another weekly playlist.
This week the light of my life was the new Ron Sexsmith album Hermitage. Maybe I really longed for something familiar and it feels good to have this same kind and warm voice carrying me through the dark just like it did in the late nineties. It’s early days, but it feels like it’s one of his finest records. I love it so much. Another big one is the new Strawberry Heritage album, but I haven’t even listened to other full albums yet because I spent the weekend with Ron. And of course the biggest of all in the grand scheme of things is the new Fiona Apple album. This week also gave us new albums from Paul Burch, Jack Grelle, Sarah Siskind, Skylar Gudasz, Jerry Leger (a surprise album that has been available on his Bandcamp for some weeks, but it’s now on Spotify. Bandcamp of course the better way to support), ROY, Soul Asylum, Joe Ely and Ben Bostick. I think the lone EP here is the new live one from the wonderful UK folk songwriter Katie Spencer. Now there’s two, because Daniel Markham’s EP also became available. I didn’t see it yesterday when I did this one. I’m a big fan and this is easily one of my favorite releases of the week.
On the Finnish side of things we have a new Vasas flora och fauna album, which is always a big deal. There’s also a new album from Neiti Olga and brand new singles from Verandan, Rosita Luu, Local Al & Mummypowder.
As for international singles, the major one is the new John K. Samson that is now available on streaming services. It has been available on youtube for a while. That’s obviously pure gold. Other big ones for me this week were the new singles from Courtney Marie Andrews, Jeremy Ferrara, Sam Burton and American Aquarium. But as usual, these are all great.
That’s it for this week. Thank you anyone who still listens the playlist and/or website. Love from a distance.

Oh and do buy the vinyl/cd/download. Spotify and other streaming services are perfect for these introductory purposes, but try to buy at least the music that matter the most to you
If you are looking this after a week has gone, the embedded Spotify will show the latest playlist. I’ll just update the same playlist because a) if someone wants to follow it, they can just follow that one list and will get a new set of songs each Sunday b) so that I don’t have a trillion of different playlists on my Spotify account.
