OCTA Weekly Playlist Episode #61

Another week, another weekly playlist

The progress outside of this playlist is still rather slow, but I try to find the time to do a bit more during the coming weeks. Unfortunately this is just a hobby and sometimes there’s just not enough time or energy for it. There’s not a whole lot of year left and I have a truckload of records that haven’t yet been mentioned outside of this playlist.

There’s a lot of great music there this week as well. New albums from Zachary Lucky, Karen & The Sorrows, Crow vs Lion, Mercy Bell, Wharfer, Vagabon, Emma Russack & Lachlan Denton, Cody Jinks (he had one last week too, a prolific songwriter), GA-20, Jake La Botz, Drew Danburry (compilation), Corridor and Hovvdy. Plus Catherine MacLellan album that came out a week ago, but I missed it then. On the EP front there’s Erin Enderlin, Carver Baronda and Andrea Von Kampen.

This week’s Finland section has wonderful new singles from Räjäyttäjät and V.Härkönen. Plus a couple of slightly earlier 2019 albums from Pasi Salmi and Hevonen Jammaa that I missed when they come out. Also revisiting last week’s power couple Knipi and Antti Autio.

The big music news of the week was that there’s a new John Moreland album coming out in early 2020. The news also came with a brand new song East October, so there’s the song of the week. Other awesome singles too from VanWyck, Sarah Lee Langford, Dolly Valentine, Gabriel Birnbaum, Bonny Light Orchestra and so forth.

That’s it for this week. Back with another round-up playlist next Sunday and before that hopefully a couple of other kind of posts too. Love love love.

Playlist link

Oh and do buy the vinyl/cd/download. Spotify and other streaming services are perfect for these introductory purposes, but try to buy at least the music that matter the most to you

If you are looking this after a week has gone, the embedded Spotify will show the latest playlist. I’ll just update the same playlist because a) if someone wants to follow it, they can just follow that one list and will get a new set of songs each Sunday b) so that I don’t have a trillion of different playlists on my Spotify account.
